33⅓

A piece of furniture designed around the ritual of listening.

33⅓ reimagines the record cabinet as a sculptural object — bringing together vinyl storage, playback and a considered place for the ritual of putting on a record.

Its defining form is a continuous curved plywood shell, creating a distinctive silhouette while naturally framing the turntable and record collection. Rather than concealing the material, the construction celebrates plywood's layered edge and natural character, making its structure part of the aesthetic.

The experience of the piece is deliberately physical. Records are accessed through a sliding storage mechanism, turning the simple act of choosing an album into part of the furniture's interaction. Every detail is considered around the habits and gestures of listening.

Behind the apparent simplicity is a precise fabrication process. The curved outer shell is formed from flexi-ply around an internal birch plywood structure, developed through CAD modelling, technical drawings, CNC fabrication and custom workshop techniques.

The result is a contemporary piece with a distinctly analogue soul — a functional object that becomes part of the ritual, atmosphere and memory of listening to music.

33⅓ is not simply somewhere to store records. It is furniture for listening.
